Liesl + Co. Weekend Getaway Blouse in Striped Voile

Well it’s a little later than I promised, but here’s my Weekend Getaway blouse, another of the new patterns released by Liesl + Co. last week.  I had it done except for hemming 4 or 5 days ago, but just put off finishing until last night…does anyone else get really bored with hemming?  I distracted myself with more work on my new sewing room- it’s all finished except for one last detail that I need the hubs to help me with, I can’t wait to show it to you all here!  I am very excited to have a nice space for sewing 🙂  Anyway, here’s the blouse!DSC_0018The pattern can be made as a blouse or dress, and features kimono sleeves (meaning no sleeves to set-in) and no closures, making it very easy to sew. Liesl + Co. Everyday Skirt in Dotty Chambray!

I recently got an email from the lovely Liesl of Oliver + S, asking if I would like to try out some patterns from her new women’s line– and of course I jumped at the chance!  I have always admired her patterns for kids and couldn’t wait to see what she had come up with for the grown ups.  I chose the Everyday Skirt right away, an easy-to-sew skirt with front pockets, smooth side panels, flat front waistband and an elastic back to eliminate zippers and buttons. DSC_0534 Continue reading

Congrats to Mary M., who won my first ever giveaway!  Here’s what Mary said she would make:

I think it would make a really cute washi dress. I’ve been wanting to try that pattern out and I think it is one that looks good with quilting cotton. :) thanks for the opportunity!”

Thanks to everyone else who entered, and if you are just dying to get your hands on some of that fabric, I bought mine online from this shop.  And this other shop has a bunch too, have fun!DSC_0494
