Confessions of a Stash-a-holic…and a Giveaway!!

Well hello there, it’s been awhile!  I am back…the sewing room is still in progress and I will show it to you when it’s done, but it is set up enough to start sewing again.  I made a little curtain for our bathroom today, not worth blogging about but it was a good way to jump back in. I am hoping to get my next project cut out tonight!

I wanted to give an update on my stashbusting efforts…let’s start with the good 🙂  Since I started I have made 17 garments, all from stash fabric.  Not too shabby!  There is still a lot left though, as I discovered while I was packing for our move.

I originally said I wouldn’t buy any more patterns, but after re-thinking that I have bought a few.  They don’t take up much room, I enjoy buying them, and they help me bust that stash so I figure it’s OK.  As Lladybird Lauren would say- sorry not sorry. Continue reading

A Jersey Saltspring

Hello all!  Well, we are starting to get settled in from our move, but still have quite a few boxes lurking around…slow and steady progress.  Today I went to my first ballet class here, and it was sooooo great to be back at it.  I started taking an adult beginner ballet class a couple of years ago, and I just fell in love with it!  Highly recommend if you have it available in your area 🙂  Anyhoo, I finally got around to taking photos of my Sewaholic Saltspring dress!  I made this last month, and I have worn it a bunch.DSC_0325 Continue reading

A Stripey Hemlock Tee

Moving sucks.  Or probably more accurately- we suck at moving.  Long story short- somehow during this move the girls and I ended up in our new city living out of a hotel and our car for 4 days before my husband showed up with the moving truck.  And we still don’t have internet (I am writing this on my iPhone).  Aaaaaannnnndddd…..our place is filled with boxes (of what??? What is in all those boxes???) And I haven’t sewn in almost 2 weeks, serious withdrawals here 🙂  BUT- I love our new city, and our new place, and when we finally get unpacked I will have a sewing room!!!  In our old place I had a corner table in the living room.   And to ease my withdrawals I have been reading all of your blogs and ooooooing and aaaahing over your projects in a darkened hotel room as my girls were sleeping 🙂  And I have a project to share with you that I photographed on one of the last days before we left our old home… The Hemlock Tee from the awesome Jen at Grainline- it’s free, how cool is that?
